Our Rooms

Four rooms, one for each stage. Children move up when they're ready, usually around their birthday, and their new teachers visit the old room first so it's not a surprise.

  1. A baby sitting at a low shelf, playing with wooden stacking toys

    Infants

6 Weeks to 12 Months. 1 Teacher to 4 Babies.

Babies keep their own schedules here. We feed and nap them when they're hungry and tired, and write it all down in your daily report: bottles, naps, diapers and the small new things.

  2. Two toddlers on the floor beside a tall tower of colored blocks

    Toddlers

    12 to 24 Months. 1 Teacher to 5.

New walkers, new words. The day gets a simple rhythm, with songs, stacking, outside time twice a day, and a cot nap after lunch.

  3. A toddler carefully adding a block to a tall tower

    Twos

    2 to 3 Years. 1 Teacher to 7.

Potty training happens here, at your child's pace and with your plan. Twos also start choosing their own centers: blocks, paint or the play kitchen.

    Full Until January

  4. A teacher painting with watercolors alongside three preschoolers at a table

    Pre-K

    3 to 5 Years. 1 Teacher to 10.

Pre-K works on letters and numbers through projects that run a few weeks at a time. By spring, most of our four-year-olds can write their names, and they head to kindergarten in Keller schools that fall.

A Day Here

This is the Toddler and Twos day. Babies keep their own schedule, and Pre-K trades part of nap time for a longer project block.

  1. Doors open. Early children have breakfast together in the Pre-K room.

  2. Everyone moves to their own room. Morning circle with songs and the weather.

  3. Centers: blocks, paint, books, the sand table. Children choose, teachers help.

  4. Outside under the oaks, unless it's over 100 degrees or pouring.

  5. Lunch, cooked here. You'll see the menu for the week every Friday.

  6. Nap or quiet rest on cots, with lights low and music on.

  7. Snack, then a second time outside or a project indoors.

  8. Stories and free play while families arrive. Doors close at 6:30.

Safety

The things parents ask about most on a tour.

  • The front door opens with a code, and only the adults on your list get one.
  • Anyone new on your pickup list shows a photo ID the first time, even if they're your mom.
  • Every teacher is CPR and first aid certified and has passed a background check.
  • Babies sleep on their backs in their own cribs, with nothing else in the crib.
  • The playground is fenced, and we count the children every time we go out and come in.
  • If anything happens, even a small bump, you get a call or a text before pickup.
